  • Junior Varsity

The jump from 13-15 recreation to high school club soccer can be very intimidating. In order to encourage and help players make that transition we have introduced our Junior Varsity program. Beginning in the fall players in this program are a part of the Delta United Soccer Academy and play competitive games against teams of comparable skill. This program is a new option for the Academy and we are currently identifying teams we can compete against.

  1. Who is eligible to play?
    • 7-12th grade boys and girls are eligible to play on a junior varsity (JV) team.
    • 9-12th grade players may be asked to fill a spot on the High School Club team.
  2. When do they practice?
    • Practices are at the same time as Delta United Soccer Academy: Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm – 7:30pm – Starting August 23rd
    • 9th grade and up may be invited to practice with the High School Club team when not at a JV practice. We have tried to coincide practices with the Varsity to make it easier on families.
  3. What is the cost?
    • $85 for 25 hours of practice, eligibility for our Academy 3v3 tournament, and the potential of 4 to 8 competitive games.
    • There may be a uniform cost.
  4. How far does the team travel?
    • The JV team may travel to play in Marquette, Houghton, Menominee, Paradise, St Ignace, Manistique, Garden, and Iron Mountain.
  5. How does the Junior Varsity team relate to the High School Club team?
    • High School aged players are eligible for both teams and may be placed on the JV team to aide in skill development and confidence.
    • 7-8th grade players can only play on the JV team.
    • The Junior Varsity team is designed to give players a gradual introduction to high school level competition.
  6. How does the Junior Varsity team relate to the Academy program?
    • The Junior Varsity practice with the Academy two times per week and are considered to be full members of the Bayside Soccer Academy for the Fall session.
    • Junior Varsity players are eligible for a 10% discount for the Spring Academy session.
